The early season whitetail hunts are off to a great start here in Pike County, Illinois! Everyone here at Hadley Creek Outfitters is excited about a quick start to our 2015 season. We started the season with 19 shot opportunities in the first nine days! Our hunters have seen some great opportunities and we’ve been able to put some nice bucks on the ground already. We also had a great time during our youth hunt. Getting out there with the young hunters is always one of the highlights of our year.
Despite the warm October weather so far, our guides have been able to use their knowledge of these farms to their advantage and have put our hunters in great locations for these early season hunts. Unfortunately however, we had an unusually high number of misses, wounded and unrecovered deer this season. This serves as an important reminder to all of us to make sure we’re confident and dialed in before the hunt! If you’ll be hunting with us this year, make sure you get out and practice.
