Early October Hunting Update from Pike County - Hadley Creek Outfitters Early October Hunting Update from Pike County - Hadley Creek Outfitters

The 2016 hunting season is off to a great start here in Pike County, Illinois. Our hunters have taken 14 bucks in the first 10 days of the season. Despite the warm weather, we’ve come out of the gates strong this year. Here’s an early October hunting update from Hadley Creek:

We knew going into the season that we were poised for a special year. We’ve seen an impressive number of mature bucks on our trail cameras throughout the summer and early fall. And we continue to see new bucks on the cameras each week. Of course the deer we catch on camera are only a small sampling of the bucks that are on our farms, totaling tens of thousands of acres. But all indications heading into the season were very positive. Be sure to check out our 2016 Trail Cam Hit List.

What’s most surprising is how productive the hunting has been despite a very warm start to October. These early archery hunts can be tough when conditions are hot and dry. But our guides and hunters both have worked hard and been persistent, a fact that is clearly evidenced in the early season results.

Here are a few recent bucks from the first part of the season here in Pike County and the surrounding areas:
