2014 Season in Review - Hadley Creek Outfitters 2014 Season in Review - Hadley Creek Outfitters

We had another great year in 2014 here at Hadley Creek Outfitters and we were able to take some incredible Illinois deer yet again. Here’s an update on our trophy whitetail hunts.

The early part of the season began with unusually hot weather, sometimes into the 80s. That didn’t make things easy. But with so many stand locations to choose from and our guides’ knowledge of the area, many of our early season hunters were able to get shots at some of these big trophy whitetails.
Later in October, storm systems brought a few days of wet weather. Again, our hunters and guides were patient and capitalized on the opportunities. Deer activity was excellent during breaks in the weather and immediately following the storm fronts. In fact, six hunters took shots in a single evening following a storm system.

As the season progressed, we were blessed with great weather and hunting conditions. Some occasional rain and a week or so of cold temperatures were the only breaks in an otherwise mild fall. Deer activity was outstanding in 2014.

In addition to all of the great bucks killed in 2014, our hunters passed on countless young eight and ten point bucks that in many other places would have hit the ground. These two and three year old deer have us very excited about the continuing improvement of our herd here at Hadley Creek Outfitters. Our 140 minimum is largely responsible for these results.

Here are a few highlights from the 2014 season:
